Port Macquarie is located on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, Australia - about 4 to 5 hours drive north of Sydney on the Pacific Highway.

Some information about Port Macquarie

The Port Macquarie - Hastings region is a popular tourist destination, boasting spectacular coastline and other natural features as well as diverse cultural, sporting and recreational attractions.

Port Macquarie has a population of around 35,000. The Hastings region has a total population (including Port Macquarie) of about 65,000 and has been one of the fastest growing areas in New South Wales over the last 10 years. Significant further growth is anticipated, with construction underway of an extension to Port Macquarie that will accommodate more than 10,000 new residents.

A leading-edge arts, conference and entertainment centre is under construction, which will house a new 620 seat tiered theatre, regional art gallery, multi-purpose conference and meeting rooms, cafe and bar facilities as well as office and retail space. Airport upgrades are also planned, to accommodate larger aircraft and encourage greater competition in air services to the area.
